Your style is always immediately recognisable.
Nice mood. Only crit I can think of is that the face of the girl looks a bit flat.

Otherwise, it's a great painting!

but like to mention two things:the flat face of the girl worked, if you put it into the center of image. then it was like the focus was on the her (as being _the protagonist of the story). and
the towers in the bg aswell as the city in the very bg might be a little more foggy, in order to enhance the overall dof, too.

to see the building in direct front view and other things lets me think you cant paint in perspective. the whole composition looks uninteresting.
the cloak, the child and the castle look really badly painted.
i dont want to be harsh, but there are a lot of people in the member gallery who can do it a lot better.
its hard to describe-but the whole thing looks randomly put together from different styles and parts. it doesnt make one whole harmonic picture to me.
to the dark mood: the grim look of the guy makes it look pathetic.
but the others seem to love it

the compostion is book cover format, split down the middle, as it was a widescreen image i figured it'd be my best bet as i wasn't sure how it was to be printed, the front of the image would have had the girl central if it were used that way
tavan, well, you can't win em all can you, i can see your points, but this was for a tutorial that was to be followed by beginners/intermediates, so i kept it simple and straight to the point, the mood was what i was going for, i assure you i can handle perspective, but over 17 small steps, didn't want to confuse or lengthen the process any more than i had to, please don't judge my skill level on one image, and what gallery i post in means nothing, it's not something i had any control over, so why bring that up?, implying that i don't deserve an award that i didn't ask for is, harsh and is the main reason a lot of elites left this site

maybe you should mention that it is for beginners and limited to the 17 steps.
skill level: i saw your others too. its just not my thing and most of my "critics" stick to them too.
but i am sorry again. i couldnt do such a painting at all.

very very nice and excellent artwork ... +10/10

About criticism, I don`t agree, the first point is the surrealist concept. This world shouldn't work like a our real world. The elements like perspective, shapes, composition and lighting to get the best of the concept.
